At Sports & Spinal Wellness Center, we want you to feel at home with our office. On this page you'll find information about our chiropractors and other professionals.   • Kim Leis-Keeling,
    DC. CCSP
    Director and Sports Chiropractor

    Dr. Kim Leis-Keeling is a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic by the Minnesota Board of Chiropractic Examiners and the University of the State of New York Education Department. She graduated from Northwestern Health Science University in Bloomington, MN in 2003. She is also a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician by the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians. She holds two Bachelor degrees in Exercise Science and Business Management from Concordia University. While attending Concordia, she was a member of the intercollegiate volleyball, basketball and track teams.

    Dr. Keeling has a special interest in Sports Chiropractic. In 2014, she was invited to do a chiropractic rotation with the United States Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid. She worked with the athletes trying out for TEAM USA for Bobsled, Skeleton and Luge. She is currently working on achieving Diplomate status with American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians. Dr. Keeling has also completed a post graduate program in Clinical Nutrition and Functional Medicine. She has been a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist since 2003 through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and has worked as an exercise specialist and personal trainer for 7 years while living in Chicago and Minneapolis.

    Dr. Keeling specializes in sports related injuries and running performance enhancement and has treated many conditions such as headaches, neck and back pain, disc injuries, plantar fascitis, muscular pain, carpal tunnel and more. She also worked with many children and families to maintain their wellness needs.  She has worked extensively with running clubs in Minnesota as a coach and giving seminars on stretching, injury prevention and sports nutrition. Dr. Keeling has treated many grade school and high school athletes, college and Olympic athletes in all areas from injury assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and sports performance. 

    Dr. Keeling has used her education and knowledge to support local sports team when she practiced in Minnesota.She acted as team chiropractic physician for Burnsville High School Rugby Team, Faithful Shepherd Football Team and Dakota County Technical College Soccer/Baseball Teams. She volunteered as attending chiropractic physician and EMT for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3-Day for the Cure and the Minnesota Special Olympics. She provided chiropractic and sports medicine care for the St. Paul Pioneers Semi-Pro Football Team, National Junior Olympics Taekwondo Championships, Professional Disc Golf Association and Minneapolis Rugby. Recently, Dr. Keeling has been invited to join TEAM USA as a member of sports medicine team in fall of 2014 at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid.

    Dr. Keeling moved to the Capital District in 2011 with her husband Mark and two children.  Her hobbies include fitness, weightlifting, skiing, archery, attending educational seminars, hiking, camping, gardening, reading, traveling and spending time with her family.

  • Amanda Boccio,
    DC, ATC

    Dr. Amanda Boccio is a licensed Doctor of Chiropractic by the University of the State of New York Education Department. She graduated with honors from New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, NY, where she earned her both her Chiropractic and Masters of Applied Clinical Nutrition degrees in 2013.  She also holds an Advanced Certificate in Sports Science & Human Performance. 

    Dr. Boccio specializes in recognizing, assessing, and treating sports-related spinal and extremity conditions.  Her goal is to educate her patients about the importance of becoming actively involved in their care in order to help them achieve their health and wellness related goals. Dr. Boccio utilizes a variety of treatment methods including: traditional and low force adjusting, soft tissue techniques, therapeutic exercise, injury rehabilitation, Kinesiotaping, and nutritional counseling to maximize healing, performance, and overall health and well-being!

    As a Guilderland native, Dr. Boccio is proud to be back in the Capital District to serve her hometown community.  In her free time, she enjoys long-distance running, being outdoors, cooking and baking, as well as spending quality time with friends and family.




  • Emily VanderVeen
    Chiropractor

    Dr. Emily VanderVeen is a graduate of New York Chiropractic College. Prior to joining the Sports & Spinal Wellness Center in August of 2022, she practiced for eight years in Esperance, NY. She enjoys working with families to provide wellness care to patients of all ages. She also holds a certification in Whole Food Nutrition. 

    Dr. VanderVeen specializes in treating women through pregnancy using the Webster Technique and gentle chiropractic adjustments. These treatments can be instrumental in providing relief from the discomfort of pregnancy, as well as help position the baby for delivery.

    Dr. Emily also specializes in pediatric chiropractic. Some pediatric conditions that respond well to chiropractic care include colic, torticollis, delayed milestones, digestive issues, ear infections and trouble sleeping. 

    Having grown up on a dairy farm, Dr. VanderVeen also enjoys treating people who have physically demanding jobs, knowing first hand how vital these treatments can be to getting people back on their feet again. In her free time, Dr. VanderVeen enjoys hiking, gardening, cooking and baking. She loves spending time with family and friends.

  • Sharon O’Meara,
    LMT

    Sharon O’Meara, LMT Sharon is a licensed massage therapist with a strong foundation in structural integration of the body. She is passionate about educating and assisting her clients in their rehabilitation process. Her area of expertise is on the injuries caused by repetitive movements, sport injuries and injury prevention. In addition, she has also been instructing Pilates for ten years and is a trained Comprehensive Certified Pilates Instructor.   • Lisa Sim
    Licensed Massage Therapist

    Lisa comes highly skilled with over 16 years of practical experience in the field of massage therapy. Lisa received her certification in June 2006 from Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage in Rochester, NY. Lisa's focus is exhibiting high ethical standards and professional integrity, while working toward increased community awareness of the the benefits of therapeutic massage. 

    Lisa is trained and experienced in multiple forms of bodywork including Swedish, Shiatsu, Hot Stone, Deep Tissue, Sports, Reflexology, Pregnancy, PTSD massage and other body treatments. 

    Lisa is a United Stated Navy Veteran and an active member of the American Massage Therapy Association.

    Ruanna became a team member at Sports & Spinal Wellness in 2017.
